THE JOURNEY

Founder Ashley Phelps discovered at an early age that she had food sensitivities. With a nutritionist mother, Ashley grew up aware of what was in her food and paid close attention to her diet and how it affected her health. With a rather substantial sweet tooth, finding wholesome, colorful dessert options has been a life-long mission for Ashley.

IN THE BEGINNING

With a background in the arts, Ashley began making safe and natural paints from plant-based colors. Her product line GLOB sold across the US and abroad and grocery stores began to ask, what do you have for decorating food? And so Color Kitchen was born.

Ashley enjoys experimenting with colorful recipes in her test kitchen, creating new products and making tasty treats. Color Kitchen’s products are now sold in more than 1000 retail locations in the US. Color Kitchen has expanded its product line to include bulk sizes, offering healthy color solutions to a larger market of food producers.

CONSULTATION

Ashley most enjoys consulting with small food manufacturers on their color solutions. Whether it be an ice cream shop looking for a seasonal color blend, or a CBD gummy candy, her knowledge of natural colors benefits a wide range of food producers from bakeries and gourmet doughnut shops, to artisan ice cream makers.
