Homemade Halloween Oreos | Dye-free | Vegan | Gluten-free

Spooky season calls for spooky treats! These chocolate sandwich cookies are dye-free, vegan, gluten-free AND absolutely delicious 🧡💜💚

INGREDIENTS

COOKIES
1 ¼ cups almond flour
½ cup tapioca flour
¼ cup black cocoa powder
2 tbsp melted coconut oil
¼ cup pure maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla extract
½ tsp sea salt

FROSTING
1 cup Miss Jones Organic Vanilla Frosting
1 Orange Color Kitchen Color packet
1 Green Color Kitchen Color packet
1 Purple Color Kitchen Color packet

Instructions

Add all of your cookie ingredients to a large bowl and use a hand or stand mixer to combine the dough. Alternatively, add everything to a food processor to incorporate.

Place dough onto parchment paper, place another piece of parchment on top, and roll dough out to ¼ inch thickness.

Use a small cookie cutter to get even cookies, and move shaped cookies onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. The cookies won’t spread, so no need to leave much spacing.

Roll the excess dough back up and out again, and repeat until you’ve made cookies out of all the dough. around 40 single cookies total.

Bake at 350 for 10 min. Allow to cool completely.

Gather 3 bowls. Add half of each color packet along with ½ tsp water to each bowl, until colorant has dissolved.

Add roughly â…“ cup pre-made vanilla frosting to each of the three colored bowls and whisk / use a hand mixer until icing is smooth, fluffy, and color is vibrant and fully incorporated.

Place each colored icing into a piping bag, and pipe onto the center of half the cookies.

Place remaining cookies on top and press down slightly. Add candy eyes (optional).

Enjoy as is, or refrigerate for firm cream filling!
